UPDATE ON MIKEY - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Hey! It's Me, MIKEY!

I am available for adoption now! I know all of you Mange Babies followers will be happy to hear that. Now it is a matter of me being patient and finding the perfect home to adopt me!

Here is my update:

Mikey experienced a sad loss last week, he lost his "mama" Stella, the bulldog. She sadly passed away from complications due to pneumonia. He was very attached to her and really is missing her. He has been extra snuggly and attentive lately.

Mikey is starting to lose some of his "puppy" ness, having been neutered last week and had his first set of shots. He listens so well, and is incredibly consistent with his house training.

Mikey loves to eat, and is learning to play fetch. Mikey's favourite treat is bully sticks and he just thinks they are the best thing ever.

We really love Mikey, and wish we could keep him, but he is going to be a big boy. Mikey needs room to run, a buddy to play with and a job to do!

He is going to be such a loyal friend and companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt this sweet boy.

UPDATE ON CELIA AND BOO

From the foster home!
We took Boo and Celia in for their recheck this morning - both of them are free of the mange mites-- so a couple more weeks of medication and hopefully they will be done with it!!! Boo has put on some more weight - she is now just over 15 kgs and Celia is not far behind and 14.8 kgs - so they are doing well - not as big as some of the siblings but looking good!!!

Boo's favorite spot is on the back of the couch - watching and waiting for something to sound off about. Boo loves to be UP - up on the couch, up on the coffee table where she'll take a nap if the sun hits it just right, or up on the kitchen table if she can get away with it and she loves to jump up - which we are working on. She loves to drag the blankets out of the kennels where she and Celia set to work "customizing them" ! She is learning to walk nicely onleash - gets a little fed up with foster dad when he won't let her lead the way but she is getting there.
Celia is all about staying calm. She has become a little more confident going for walks - or saunters around the block. She loves to sit and watch the ants and snack on one or two, she paddles around in the 'dog pool' - sticking her nose in the water and blowing bubbles and just to lay in the sun and watch the world go by. Celia LOVES yogurt on her kibble - it's just not right -- eating kibble without it!!!

UPDATE ON ROZ

Today we took Roz for a walk and it was the first time that he's been out of the house and didn't spook at the cars/large objects:) He walked along, no problems at all! He didn't like the kids playing basketball though, he ran past them on the sidewalk pretty fast! But he was very brave;) His last trip to the vet saw a weight gain, but unfortunately he still had live mites on him. I was so sad for him:( I was hoping he had fought it. Another vet appointment on Thursday so hopefully we'll see more improvements! He's sleeping in a bit longer, not 6:00am everyday which is wonderful for foster mom and dad. Roz visited the Chestermere Pet expo on June 1st and he was the poster child for the AARCs babies. He wasn't thrilled about the car ride at all, getting sick on the way there and then he didn't seem to like the big open space. Once there were treats for him he seemed to be more comfortable (of course). He got to meet some of the previously adopted AARCS rescues and their families and he's looking forward to meeting his own soon!
p.s. My foster brother (the resident doggy) doesn't share the couch very well! Ruff, Ruff (translated - MOVE OVER!)

UPDATE ON SMITTY

Hey it's me Smitty.............the littlest of the group! I wonder if that is still the case. I am "growing like a good weed" Mom says.

I haven't been cleared for my demodex yet. I will be visiting the Doctor here this week to have some more scrapings done. Once I have been cleared, vaccinated and neutered, I can go up for adoption! My mom and dad said they want a special home for me as I am such a great pup (they said I am one of the easiest pups they have fostered and they have fostered LOTS!!!). I am very shy of people but once I get to know you, I LOVE YA LOTS! I do bond with other dogs right away and love to play and wrestle. Even the Haylo, the cat, is cool. She acts more like a dog than a cat though. She is quite silly!

Well gotta go and enjoy the sun. BowWow for NOW!

SULLY UPDATE MAY 12th

Hey folks! I had my surgery on Friday. Dr. McBride did my neuter and fixed my inverted eyelids at the same time. Boy do my eyes feel a whole lot better! No more scratching of my eyeballs and no more goop in my eyes constantly.

Now you can all see what beautiful eyes I really have!

MEET SULLY

This guy has made quite a transformation! Look at how much coat has come in on him!
Here is what the loving foster home has to say:

Sulley is doing great! His eyes will need to be operated on soon, the constant scratching of his eyelashes on his eyeballs irritate him but otherwise he's a very good, loving, sweet little puppy!

Everyday he is getting healthier and healthier.

MEET BOO AND CELIA

Here is what the loving foster home has to say:

We took Celia and Boo in for their check-ups. both girls have gained about 6 pounds in the last month- and are doing well. Boo is clear of the mange mites and Celia is still packing live ones so they are both continuing on their medication. They have both learned to spend their nights in kennels without a fuss - they would much rather snuggle up in bed with us -but there is only so much room!!
Both girls have very distinct personalities. Boo is very outgoing and playful and of course loves to be loved. She loves to go for walks and check out the neighbourhood. She is not shy at all and enjoys meeting and getting attention from anyone who is willing to give her some. She loves to hang out in the yard and romp with the rest of the pack, and when she's pooped - she'll have a nap in the sun.
Celia is really more my kind of girl - very laid back, very sweet, quiet and a little shy and has a bit of a stubborn streak. She is slowly gaining confidence on her walks - at first she refused to go but now she follows her sis along and they take every opportunity to stop and sniff. Celia loves attention but is not one to come and ask for it,-- she waits for you to come to her. She enjoys laying out in the sun or romping with her sister and making sure the yard is 'safe' from intruders - she tends to bark abit.
They are both wonderful easygoing pups and it is a pleasure to foster them while they heal and when the time comes they will make wonderful loving pets in their forever homes.
